Chux - Free Sample
We know that many of you are using – or are considering using cloth nappies, not only for their financial savings but for the savings they offer our planet….that’s why we are thrilled to be supported by the team at Chux/Greenworks who have provided us with loads of samples of their Biodegradable Superwipes to give away. These can be used over and over and then when you’re done, they can go on your compost heap or into your green bin – we love them because they are 100% biodegradable – and we know you will too. Samples will be included with all orders placed with The Cloth Nappy Company while our supplies last.

Cinnamon - Gorgeous NZ made All-in-ones
We’re always on the lookout for new lines that tick both the cute box and the functional box. When we found out about Cinnamon nappies and the good feedback they have received. As you know, we’re pretty fussy here at the Cloth Nappy Company and won’t sell any products until we’ve trialed them with success ourselves! Eva was keen to give the ‘diggers print’ nappy a go on both Owen (well over 2 years) and Seften (6 weeks). For both boys the fit was right and there were no leaks. (Admittedly the nappy looked a bit big on Seften as a newborn and for Owen she used one extra insert - but no leaks and cute as can be!

We now have our first order with limited prints available (hooray – prints for both boys and girls!). These unique all in one (AIO) nappies fit most babies between 3.5 – 15 kg and feature a sewn in bamboo soaker and a pocket (inserts can be added as needed). The outer of these nappies are made of a minky fabric and the inner is soft white suede cloth which draws the moisture away from babies skin. PUL is used so cover not required for these nappies. The microfibre inserts consist of 3 layers and are very absorbant and fast drying. the night time boosters are very thirsty and will last all night! 2 layers of bamboo and a layer of microfibre that works like a trifold and snaps together giving you 9 absorbant layers! Both nappies and inserts are made by a WAHM (Work At Home Mum) right here in NZ – check out our full range on Facebook or our website and see which print you fall in love with.

Christmas Shortbread Recipe
- 220g butter - ½ caster sugar - 2 cups sifted flour - 1 cup cornflour, stirred

Cream the butter, then add the caster sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Sift the flour BEFORE measuring, then spoon it lightly into the cup measure, without packing it down. Add with the cornflour to the creamed mixture.

Roll on a floured board, 7.5mm – 1cm thick. (We found that it was a little warm to cut the shapes out and so popped the mix into the fridge for a couple of minutes to let it set a little – made for much better rolling and cutting.) Cut into shapes with cutters (I picked up a set of Christmas shaped cookie cutters at the local variety shop for just $3) or cut rounds with the top of a glass and bake on baking paper at 150° for 15-20 minutes. Watch carefully towards the end of the cooking time and take shortbread from the over as soon as the edges change colour slightly. Cool on a wire rack – then enjoy! (Recipe adapted from Alison Holsts Cooking For Christmas recipe book.)

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas break lined up and would like to take this time to sincerely thank you for supporting The Cloth Nappy Company in 2011. We have really enjoyed our roles here – whether that’s providing advice on different nappy types, sharing a giggle on Facebook, hosting nappy chats or putting your orders together. We look forward to a busy 2012 and truly appreciate your continued support.

Have a very Merry Christmas! Love Claire and Eva xx
